In November 2006 we closed one
chapter on our life and turned the page to open a new story by hitting the
road. We live in our luxury 5th wheel traveling to see our great
American land. Many of our travels take us to places we care for and have
wanted to learn about all of our lives. We have found in our traveling
retirement, that if we plan out our route for a region or state ahead of time
we can touch all those interesting places. But, we also found we don’t have to
see everything in one stop. We leave something to come back to so we have
reason enough to return and experience an area again and again. After all, this
IS an extended trip. One of our goals is to be “out here” for 10 – 15 years. We have other travel goals, such as; 1: catch three species of fish in each of the 49 states 2: golf in each of the 49 states 3: see Canada as well as the USA 4: stay north of I-80 in the summer and south of I-10 in the winter 5: help other RV'ers where ever we can and when ever we can.
The reason we developed
“Purposeful RVing” was to become a resource for other travelers, weather rv’ers
or not, for conjuring up ideas of places to go and things to see or
experience. We have friends, who though
they did not know they’re influence on the development of this idea, have
visited every Spanish Mission and are well on their way to visit each
Presidential Library. That notion got us
thinking about steering our big rig toward a more “Purposeful RVing” lifestyle.
The design of this BLOG is to
give the traveler the ideas AND resources to come out on the road a see this
Great North American landscape. Each segment will have website addresses and a
photo to “tickle” your travel bones. So whether you have an RV or not pack up and get going!
